Advancing Public Value Through Procurement Excellence
CIPS HPA was honoured to participate in the 2026 Annual Heads of Procurement Conference in Mombasa, organised by the Kenya Institute of Supplies Management (KISM). Under the theme, "From Procurement Spend to Public Value: Advancing National Impact Through Professional Excellence," the conference highlighted the critical shift from measuring procurement success through compliance alone to evaluating the real value and outcomes it delivers for citizens.
The event brought together leading voices in the profession, including CIPS CEO Ben Farrell, KISM Council Chairperson Jennifer Cirindi, KISM CEO Kenneth Matiba, and PPRA Director General Patrick Wanjuki, to address critical challenges facing public procurement:
- Strengthening the link between procurement spending and development impact
- Improving alignment across planning, budgeting, procurement, and evaluation systems
- Increasing the use of data analytics and procurement intelligence for decision-making
- Enhancing contract management, performance monitoring, and accountability
As a trusted technical partner, CIPS HPA is supporting efforts to strengthen public healthcare procurement systems through governance, capacity building, and systems improvement. Our focus is on helping organisations move beyond compliance and harness procurement as a strategic tool for delivering better health outcomes and greater public value.
When procurement is aligned with outcomes, it becomes a powerful driver of national impact.
